Bill, thanks so much for filling in the gap. And for TM to still be stoked shaping after 70K+ says a lot!
ha wow creative…my turn to rip on a kook… not to mention you ride a board from fuckin china and wear a leash… your the reason why surfing is going down hill… you support all the wrong things… you probably dont know anything about surf history or even who won the world title in 66… and i hope that little crack you put on here was worth it kook… no reason to be a dick… but im gonna be an asshole if are…
i have always wonderded about those boards.
i have seen people ride them at san o especially the point,
but have never seen them at huntington or blackies.
i wonder if the wild rail makes it better for big mushy waves?
ya thats the main area where you see a lot of em…at sano… but they work well at blackies i rode my quite a bit ther and have had a lot of fun ther i rode mine about a week ago there and it was great… they noseride super good there with the steep wave face and there fast boards so they do good at beach breaks… if you ever get the chance to ride one try it there fun but a bit weird compared to the coventional log
I have an old boss from 1987 I still ride it 10 foot 2inch sano point rider i bought it from the man himself... used he would not shape one for me (I tryed for months to get the man too shape me one and he finailly gave me a used board for 110 bucks) ( he did not like my shapes)surfed with him for a breif period 85-90 then went too college and did other fun stuff)
( he was a stand offish guy back then) but never stole waves and I remember when a school principle turned land scaper and had a bad heart and and we where all there when his wife did a ash drop(we all paddled out for it) 1989 90 ish right at the point I got the best wave ever not a good wave butt it carried me from far out too the shoreI am just an old timer getting ready too put my son in too play with the surf I had! The sano point wind direction log pole ( I dug the last four feet of the hole for that pole) in 1988 and back then I was the nebie!!!

Read my name. That’s you. Baggin’ on peoples girlfriends or boyfriends saying that they are ugly because they ride an ugly BOSS. You’re a complete and total douchebag. I’ve known Bob-O personally for many years and he is a great man who loves all people who surf all kinds of different boards. Shame on you for attacking another mans character. I can and will stand up for Bob-O anytime someone like yourself tries to tear down his great characteristics as a human being. YOU’RE JUST JEALOUS AND PATHETIC.
And yes! There was more than one Ventura Nose riding event. One of them may not have been an MP sponsored event. That may have been the difference. I don’t really know which came first. I pulled up to the dirt lot when one of them was going on. I seem to think that the Terry Jones/Tom Hale win might of been the first and it was more local and unannounced than the one that Munoz won. But there were two. When we realized that everyone was at C Street for a contest, we immediately took off for Rincon and Mary’s. The word is that Hynson would have beat Munoz if the judges had even noticed his last wave of the heat.
Never really cared much for Munoz. He could Surf and rode Waimea. But really a “pozer”. I mean really the “Quasimodo” and an 11’ dog of a Surftech. I guess when you got that “little big man” complex ya gotta go big. Was at a Hobie event once, never been around more conceited surfers than Munoz and Walden together.
Man, you don’t even know whom you’re talking to. John Mellor is probably the guy who did the most for Swaylock’s, organising pretty much all those get-togethers at Plaskett Creek year after year. Also, I’m pretty sure that he knows a lot more than you, design wise. And since you mention the Greek Eliminator, I happen to be a good friend of Bob “The Greek” Bolen and I was so lucky that he custom-shaped me an Eliminator and a Maui Model a few years ago. So, yes, I’m familiar with the step-deck design. I don’t specifically know Boss Surfboards but they are probably interesting. Only, the way you came in here banging doors upset me a bit. You could have asked: “What do you think about step-deck surfboards, such as Greek Eliminators or Boss Surfboards?” and it would have sounded much different.
