just want to see what you guys think about those boards and if you have any questions about them… in my opinion there the best log out there… you WILL not find a single fin at 10’ that will nose ride better or turn like that if you’ve never riden one get on one asap… you’ll see it takes a couple waves to get used to but once you get em dialed your hookd…

well i see where your coming from… but i want to know what people think of these boards… most people have a lot to say about them …most people that havent riden them think they dont work… and uhh ya i joined three days ago because i wanted to contact someone on here about a greek eliminator so i can buy it… SORRY im not a SUPER COOL “SWAYLOCKS” junkie/ “guru” like you seen to think you are… im sorry i only have a meisly 2 posts… and i dont have 277 points… ya cool dude whatever… hahhahahah

I don’t hear anybody saying anything about them except for some guy on Swaylocks, a real hep cat, who seems to think they’re the cat’s meow.

I’ve seen a couple around here. One had a snapped off nose (repaired) and another with major stress cracks. The boards I saw were really thin with the stepped nose and stepped tail. Kind of like the old Rick UFO from the 60s but a modern copycat version.
Is that the design to which you refer, hepcat?

Hepcat, not trying to argue with you, but I could care less about my 277 points or whatever. I certainly don’t think of myself as being any kind of “guru”, instead I came in here to learn things from guys who build boards (just like me) except they have done it longer, better, and in such numbers that i can only dream of reaching (maybe in another life?) I don’t like the word “junkie”, either. Too reminiscent of good guys I once knew who got totally wasted by drugs when they could have had a wonderful life instead.
The only reason why I said what I said is because i’m a moderator here and one of the rules (in case you haven’t read them before posting) is no advertisement in the discussion forum. There is “Surfshop” for that.
Not sure I’m such a “cool dude”, either. Depends with whom, I guess…
Ok I’ll jump in, because I have points, lot’s of them…I know about surfboards, and I’m the coolest guy I know.
Hepcat, your opening post sounded like you were trying to sell BOSS surfboards, you sounded like a fricking ad for BOSS surfboard. Hey I love Brewers, but I don’t say everyone should go out and buy a 10’0 Brewer gun.
I respect you opinion if you like the BOSS HOG wave magnet model, Personally I don’t like retro 60 beasts…I got a whole closet of them…But then who gives a ratz ass what I think. If I ever get a BOSS you’ll be the first person I’ll (try not to) run over trying to learn how to turn it…you have a special place in my heart.
I think you got (In your opinion) jumped on because of your opening remarks, but then you came back with an over sensitive remark about being not one of the cool swaylock chosen few. Hey I’m the coolest person here…what are you kidding me. Swaylocks is a cyber surf site, half of the clowns here don’t even surf…but they’ll spew aerodynamic and mathamatic bs trying to make sense of how a surfboard works, Others have made 10 surfboards and that automatically makes them a shaper.
Don’t kid yourself, and don’t be sensitive…Welcome to Swaylocks, now go buy a blank and make a BOSS replica and report back to us how it worked. If you don’t then you have joined the ranks of Swaylock cyber kooks. Remember Swaylocks is about making surfboards.

i didn’t even know they are still being made…
I’ve surfed a few of them, was the custodian of one for a while. Like everything else, when all the planets are aligned, it can be “that magic board”. The rest of the time, nothing that different. I think every design has a specific set of size & conditions that makes it perfect, and the rest of the time, they’re all just surfboards.
As for the spam factor, yeah, its definitely cool to be a fan. But maybe if you said something more than “Woo hah, they’re the BEST!” people would listen. Is it the step deck you like? The scoop tail? The fin? Bob O shapes pretty much 10’0"'s only… why do you like that better than a 9’6 or a 10’2?
Anyone worried about BOSS boards being advertised, don’t sweat it. Bob is barely interested in taking orders at all and pimping them on a website is about the last thing he probably has time for. Just a long-time south county guy doing his thing. But yes, still doing it.

so all i see is a bunch of people at this point trying to bag on hepcat. why dont you guys talk about the boards design. does anyone know what they are, or is everyone going to bicker about the opening statment. the people i know that ride them can or cant. its a different type of equipment that could work if you let it work the way its supose to. they have alot going on thin s deck ,crazy rails. lets hear what people have to say about the DESIGN since that what we are talking about.!
