Bouyancy of 1lb and 2lb expanded polystyrene...

I have been searching for a while and con not find what i am looking for. Does anyone know or have a link to where i could find the above information? Thanks!

Bouyant Force = RhoVg

Rho = Density of object

V = Volume of object

g = acceleration due to gravity (-9.8 m/s/s or -32 ft/s/s)

So, for everything else being equal, a 1lb EPS board will be more bouyant than a 2lb EPS board.

But, you have to consider both density of board AND RIDER in combination. So the difference will not be twice as much. Here’s a decent explanation

On the same site: that’s why a Diet Coke floats and a Classic Coke sinks:

So, with a lighter density EPS board, you may float an inch or two higher in the water (if the water level is at your belly button with a 2 lb EPS board when sitting on your board, it will be below belly button level with a 1 lb EPS board).
