boxy hard rails

Hi, I just finished up a board for my younger brother.(6’1" 2.25"thick) The rails are a bit experimental. They’re thin as far overall rail thickness goes, boxy in shape with a fairly hard bottom edge about 2/3’s up the board. Any observations or opinions as to how the board will ride? Thanks, Graham

Thanks, Graham ok graham from my experiments over the last few years you can have a hard edge all the way up the board… it wont catch if you have the right combo of vee and rocker! what i havent got around too is having a hard edge on the top rail all the way up the board. when its hard in the tail it helps throw a big spray and gets a contest surfer an extra 1/2 a point! ive had many a thought on trying it all the way forward, good luck and keep trying everything but only one thing at a time, dave. http://www.feraldave.com
