Broken fin, dammit!, pic included for chip

Cant believe it, but i broke this fin. Im spewing, because

A) It’s not my fin!

B) Its a top looking fin !

Anyway, here it is, hope the pic works. Do you guys think it can be saved. By the way, its from a finbox with the pin and screw, fins unlimited??. Im going to take it to a local shaper to hopefully get it fixed. I would attempt it myself, but it’s not my fin, and i want it to be fixed right. I did the right thing, and drew a template of it, and kept the dimensions!!.

Base 5 1/2’’

Rake 5 1/2’’

Height 8’’

I’m playing around with photobucket, trying to post a pic into the post, bear with me

O.K, now i’ve got it!!. By the way, in the middle of the fin there is a knot in the wood, which has been removed, so there is a clear hole in the fin, which makes it look good!

…isn’t “photobucket” clever !!

do you have a shot of the base too, please Mark ?

cheers

ben

Feel your pain, bud.

I think Chips is going some where with this, do you remember his and Hisky’s post about casting fin bases on to wooden fins.

apart from the type of fin base I think the principle would be the same. fin might end up a bit shorter in the box though.
