Broken Firewire - anyone want a look?

Snapped my 2008 Firewire Quadraflex going over the falls this morning at OB (San Francisco).

Not sure what happened, but I did NOT hid the board with my body. Am guessing that wave slammed nose into ocean floor, but it’s anyone’s guess.

I doubt this is reparable.

If anyone is interested in having a look, it’s in my garage. You can reach me at info@carlbettag.com.

Cheers,

I’m in florida…is it worth the drive to see it?

I would like to see the inside of one…  Can you post up a pic?

The inside of my garage is a mess.  I’ll post pictures later.

I took a cross section of a Firewire to Big Sur for a Swaylocks campout 2 years ago.  Nothing that I could see was much different from what most of the backyard compsand guys are doing.  EPS core, high density skin core with fin plug reinforcements and balsa rails.

I'm curious - do you see anything different in your broken board since it's a later model?

John, you are right, made pretty much same as people are doing here, actually it could seem old tech compared to some here. Probably the only real difference is FW worked out the systems of how to do it efficiently in production.

What’s up with the “springer?”

Guys - my abject apologies. I overestimated my ability to do this and was instead overwhelmed by family & Thanksgiving. Yes, I know all I had to do was take some pictures, but I still failed.

The board is now being repaired, so game over.

I’m sorry for wasting everyone’s time. I had good intentions but no follow through.

This is exactly what I saw. The description fits perfectly; didn’t see anything else.
