You used the broken surfboard repair method in Neira’s thread.  The link to Neira’s technique was useful.  I post links to old threads to give credit where credit is due.

I posted several original projects of mine.  Figures/graphics are visual.

Search and read.

I’ve fixed a lot of snaps over the years (I snap a lot of boards), probably about fifty. I’ve snapped two boards so far this year already! Anyway I don’t bother splinting the stringer. I just glue the board together with Q-Cell and resin. Three / four layers of glass, each bigger than the last, starting at 3 inches and finishing at 12 inches wide in a butterfly shape. You need to do a lot of sanding of the existing glass beforehand, especially on the bottom and the rails so you don’t end up with a bump in the board. In all the years I’ve been fixing snaps I’ve never had one snap in the same place. If they do snap again it’s usually 12 inches or more out from an old snap repair.

If you have a board you really like I would recommend making a rocker template. This comes in useful for lining up the halves if you ever snap the board!

I’ve heard it said that a snapped board will never be the same. Well I’ve had fixed boards that go worse, some neither better or worse but just different, some even go better. Then there’s the odd one where I don’t notice any difference at all. Usually guns.
