Brown stain from old ding

I have a Bruce Jones Longboard that I have had for four years. Before it ever made it to the water, I dinged the rail. I repaired it to the best of my ability at that time. It looked, felt, and seemed water tight. Now, after 4 years, I am noticing a brown stain radiating our from where the ding was repaired. I plan on resealing the area again. Since then I have become a perfectionist when it comes to minor repairs. My question is: Before I reseal the ding, is there any way to get the brown stain out? Or should I just reseal it and live with it? Thanks in advance, JoeSlotz
