CAD / CAM / CNC

Are CAD shapers interested in designing each detail of every board they produce, or are they satisfied to leave it up to the computer and sweat through the finishing process? Why? Is there a better way? 3D Parametric Solid Modeling? Everyone is aware that shaping machines are producing more boards than hand-shapers. Some shapers are excited about this, and some are very disappointed. Yet, there seems to be little inquiry as to how the boards are designed. The most artificial in my opinion, is digital scanning. Then there is the gimmick of scaling dimensions on X, Y, and Z axis. But what about CAD? Computer Aided Design? How much effort is put into each board? How much skill and knowledge does it really take? Well, that depends on who the designer is and what program they’re using. What do you think? http://www.apexsurf.com/biz

Finish the site and don’t make surfboards a science please…

it´s really funny when i read the blah blah blah marketing words in most surf webpages…

What made me laugh was the way they were going on about how exact they get their curves and l looked at the curve dividing the webpage and it was all wonky. Sorry but l’m still laughing. KR http://groups.msn.com/MyKRSurf/krcomweb.msnw
