CAD/CAM models of surfboard fins..

Hey all.

OK, so I’m currently writing a paper on the fluid dynamics of surfboard fins and related drags etc for uni. I’m using some C.F.D software to work with the fluid dynamics of fins etc. Nothing special just an interesting project for uni.

What I’m after is, is there anyone out there with CAD experience in say SolidWorks or AutoCAD, something similar, with any models of surfboard fins? Or have made any fins? Wings… anything similar?

Basically I need to make a model of a fin on the computer, and put it through the CFD software…

Any help is greatly appreciated

NO real fins just a lookalike I slpapped together with some obscure foil… though not sure where I’ve saved it…? But I do have a aeroplane wing drwan with Autocad in 3-D… probably doesnt help much ?

Also was wondering whether you’d like them models in 3D ? probably yeah … yes… ? which file format?

Drawing a fin in 3D with Autocad is pretty difficult (for me), havent quite figured it out yet. Would imagine its easier with solidworks or inventor. Also I dont have any real fins to play around with so…
