Califano Company Surfboards Jacksonville, Florida

I recently picked up a Califano Company 5' twin on ebay.  Rough shape.  Almost 4" thick.  Looks to be from early 70s.  Paul Califano used to have a dive shop/surf shop on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville.  Anybody familiar with these boards?  Years in business?  Shapers/glassers/sanders/etc?  Will take photos and post.  Thanks

Definitely early 70s. Most likely, 71 or so. From that period when boards took a wrong turn and wide tailed twins were the latest fad. Most of them just plain sucked.

I’d place it around 1971 for sure.  I had a Hobie with a simular shape and loved it.  Definatly influenced by Simmons.
