Calling out Texas Swaylockians!

SynergyTodd is right, nobody looks at the “hookup” section, so I’m throwing it out here… If this is too egregiously off-topic, the mods can move it.

Now, that said…

Anyone in Texas want to sit in the copilot’s chair on a trip to Ticla? Proficiency with a stick-shift required.

I’m contemplating taking a springbreak trip during the week of March 15 and the weekends bookending it. My usual suspects all have prior commitments, and it’s nice to have some company on the road, so I figured I’d have a better shot at finding some like-minded company here than on some general-interest surfing site.

I have a 4x4 toyota with a 4cyl and a camper shell, and I’ve made this trip a dozen times before, I grew up in the area and I’m fluent in spanish… Now, there’s always a certain amount of uncertainty in a mexico road trip, but a lot of the possible dangers and inconveniences are minimized by my prior experience. A half-share of fuel and tolls round trip will probably run about $300, camping is about $2-5 a day, and food is as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. The trip runs about 18 hours from corpus christi to the coast, and I try to run it straight through if I have a willing copilot.

Anyone up for some adventure? Mentally stable only, I don’t want to have to dump you in the middle of the desert somewhere.
