Can a noserider have too much foam ??

I really need the expertise of the forum here. I want to order a custom fiberglass noserider.

I'm 6'5" 230 Lbs /108 kg. My go to long board is an Epoxy Walden Magic 10' 6" X 19 1/2" X 23 1/2" X 14" X 3 1/2".

I love that frickin thing, but am under no delusions that it is a pure noserider.

I'm quite a competent surfer and can cross step the board forward and back and can get one foot close to the nose,

but eventually due to the boards rocker the wave will eventually spit me sideways when i'm aiming to get right to the tip.

Due to my weight i'm looking to get a 10'6" Noserider. My question is this, I'm wondering if alot of foam (thickness) is bad thing in

a noserider. I swear my success on the Walden Magic has alot to due with the board's general thickness and volume for my size.

You see alot of noseriders / modern logs that are very flat and not necessarily thick (See Flying Ironing board).

I'm wondering if a relative amount of thinkness on a noserider will detract from it's ability to let you make it to the nose, or it you keep

the rocker relatively flat, and the rails round with a nice deep wide fin, that thickness and voume become relative to the riders weight.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

a good noserider will have lots of kick inthe tail rocker, and a flatter nose rocker. go to a guy who knows his stuff, and say that you want a noserider… answer his questions… he should figure out the rest, it’s his job.

good luck
