Can i salvage this board?

So I broke the tail off my only board. I wiped out on a big wave and my board decided to keep going without the tail. Could I get it fixed? Is it even worth getting it fixed?

I’m a relatively new surfer, I started about 5 months ago, and so I don’t have that much control over my board yet. So I imagine if I do fix it that it is likely to happen again.

What do you guys think?

edit- I don’t know what that gibberish is at the top of my post and i can’t seem to delete it

here is the board

yes you can save the board

just reattach the tail and use a couple layers of cloth on each side and you should be fine

you will loose alot of flex in the tail but since your a beginner it should matter too much

search the archives and you will find some ways to fix up the board

Why did it snap in that spot???  I know...think about it.....Ray

Man, its an easy fix but at the end of that day, that plug should have been off-set. you basically have no stringer between the leash and fin plugs.

is it fixed yet?

the one sd repairman did on

that other thread was a close

relative to your ding except

it was done with a car.

…ambrose…

right day with tools thats a

quick job…

and good pay too!

This.

Why do I get the feeling it’s a Chinese board? I’m curious to know what brand this thing is.

3P Syndrom.      (Poor Prior Planning)

No!!!!! Not the Threeps!!

It will get you everytime.

Sammy may be on to something here, although it could be a piece worker not thinking but just trying to get it done.

I sure wouldn’t drill my plug next to my my other plug. Off set plugs are to weak too. I would cap the top and bottom over the plugs. The weak tail needs all the help it can get. Thats a pretty old board right. I haven’t used one of those oldschool leash plugs in decades.

The board was bought about 6 years ago at this little surf shop players in manhatton beach. I don’t believe that its made in china but i can’t be sure. Haven’t gotten it fixed yet, i have just been borrowing a buddy’s board. How much do you think i could get it fixed at a surf shop or something? I haven’t really messed too much with surfboard repair except for a couple little dings.

What label does it have? That might be a clue.
