Can you get a barrel on a fish?

I’m getting a my first fish soon and, while Florida gets the rarest of barrels, I was wondering if it is even possible to visit the green room on such a board. It’s a twin fin, 5’8"x21 1/2"
x2 5/8"

Also, the board is a Coda styro epoxy. Anyone have any information on what happened to Coda? Can’t seem to find a website or any contact info. Thanks guys.

Yes, you can get a barrel on a fish. Remember they started as kneeboards for riding hollow San Diego reefs.

Coda is Steve Forstall, he works a couple hundred yards from me - and by some strange coincidence, his house is a couple hundred yards from mine also. Sorry I don't have any contact info, if I want to see him I just walk over, haha.

"Can you get a barrel on a fish?"

The “fish” was spawned at one of the hollowest ledgy breaks around here

" It's like shooting fish in The Barrel. "

The Official Fish File findings have that found that Fish are often used to facilitate the frequent visit to the fabulous facility known as the Green room.

I get barrelled on my coda fish all the time. In Florida even…

you can get barrelled on anything, its up to the skill and positioning of the surfer more than the craft......

Ocean Beach in SF a few years back…but is it a barrel or a cover-up?

you can. you can also get barreled on a noserider, but there are better vehicles for riding the barrel. Kneeboards ridden standing up is not a good translation, otherwise we would all be riding slightly longer narrower greenough spoons.

More like a new part in your hair.

Usually that's termed a head dip in my world.

I feel that on the smaller days , all sorts of fishes  barrel better because the're short and easy to maneouver into small pockets/barrels.

On the bigger days , say OH -   narow tails , small guns, pintails , roundpin longboards go better .

fish usually don't make the steep fast drop easy on ya  unless your Kelly.

just my thoughts

Fish are very good on Over head Days.  If the fin set is right they excelerate out of a bottom turn.  Mike Hynson Is making some very cool quad Fish.  Keep in mind that The Lis Fish were first developed in San Diego to surf some of the thicker more powerful waves in and around San Diego.

I often prefer my mkii fish on the two to 4 foot fast hollow days.

I ride mine in indo all the time. Doesnt like steppy barrels or twisting barrels too much. Down the line straight tubes or walls are great .

I have a few different twin keels. The wider the tail the harder it is to ride in hollow waves.

My more trad fish seem to slow down and catch rails in round tubes.

Mkii has a little more rocker, pulled in nose and a pulled in tail. Still loves slop too.

Heres a shot of my mkii at g-land (speedies) which i concider the perfect size and condtions for that board.
