Canard and twin keel...can you have it all?

After a recent trip to the Dominican republic, I realized the potential problems associated with traveling with glassed on keels. So, I was contemplating replacing my glassed on keels on my fish with lokbox keels. I love how the board rides frontside, but backside is a bit sketchy, and I was thinking about the possibility of a canard quad setup. Actually, I was wondering if I could set it up so that the back boxes could accomodate twin keels if I want, or pop in all 4 fins for canard setup. I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on a canard quad, but from the pics I’ve seen, some look like the back fins have little to no toe, but what about cant? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Seay

Seay,

The rear fins on mine have no cant or toe-in. Mike

I had a Mandala fish w/ turbo quad in Lokbox and at least on those fins a lot of the cant is built into the fin. Boxes were a little toed in. Don’t have the board now so can’t give measurements but Manny said the Lokbox keels for his boards would work very well; just plug 'em in and go. Never tried it though. Liked the quad well enough!

…with vee or concaves, the boxes are positionated at an angle (due to the bottom config)to obtain no cant or toe in…
