i used a canned spray enamel from the local hardware store to airbrush some stripes on my latest board. i know that the preferred paint would be water-based. the guy i painted the board for insisted he’d seen spray enamel used before. am i screwed?

…YUP!>>> …You can archive that info.Herb. Krylon makes a canned latex spray. I bought mine at a Michales store (large arts&craft). I’ve used it on a few boards with no problems. Not many color choices though.
It’s better to buy a refillable spray can @ Harbor Freight Tools,Herb.
It’s better to buy a refillable spray can @ Harbor Freight Tools,Herb. Thanks to Herb, I bought one of these a long time ago (only $5 or $10) and recently used it for the first time. You pump this can up with air with any normal tire inflator, so if you don’t have an air compressor, no problem. And you can use whatever paint you want. Tip: It works more efficiently if you keep it hooked up to the inflator…and bingo, you’ve got an airbrush-type rig. When the pressure starts to go down, just turn on the tire inflator for a few seconds. It works great…BUT DON’T MIX YOUR PAINT TOO THIN!!! I learned that the hard way.
sounds good. i’ll try it. thanks.
Guys I too looked into this query and found in Australia that Dulux I think make a spray paint called “aquacolour”, just in a spray pack like enamel. Most basic colours are there as well as some weird ones to boot. Cheers Holger
