I tried some time ago the new RR ULTRA XB II, I really liked it but for some reseon, I cant find it anymore, the supplier told me that I can make the optical brightner myself, by adding purple powder pigment, so, anybody tried to do it ?

Why not ask Greg Loehr first?
Mrs Stingray says I’m a surf snob. One phone call…that’s all it takes…
…you must live far away from California…and far away from the USA…and…
…I’m sticking with RR…but…a short drive will yeild me Epxoy Resin from several companies…you just go ahead and make your own…
Mrs Stingray will continue to call me a Surf Snob…and she will call you a Kook and other not so nice names too…go for it !
I sent him an email but he still didnt response…
so, maybe someone can help ?
Since the original ultra xb has a slightly purple touch in it im thinking about adding powder pigment, so what will be better? Glow powder or the normal one? Blue or Purple?
priceless
all the best, Stingray. all the best.
Im giving it another try…if somebody knows the name of the optical brightner that resin companies adds to their resin-it will be very helpful.
I don’t think the purple tint is related to the ultra white, white. I think the purple has more to do with the fight against yellowing.
…I cannot help you on that but I can tell you that ergonomically is best to grab that front knob in a more subtle way. Seems that many young guys grab the planer that way…
Thanks, heres a photo showing the differences between the resins from right to left: normal ce kk, ultraII, ce with a lot purple in it and ce with less amount of purple
As you can see the ultra has special thing in it makes it very bright…so I just need to understand which chemical makes it look like that
Maybe this thing can give more of the “ultra” look, what do you think? k
So I bought this OP, hope it will work…if anybody have more ideas im ready to hear
Have you succefully made epoxy yet??? If so how much for 3 gallons of epoxy?
