Hope you’ve checked out my first board build post. That board is going to be sanded tomorrow. Figured that before I start, I’ll glue in my Fusion tabs on my 6’0 shortboard. Now, I may be dumb, but, when purchasing the tabs, I thought it was common knowledge that they COME pre-canted, i.e. the 0, 5 and 9 options upon purchasing them, so that you can set them level and not worry about dummy jigs and tape and the like…
Before I drilled holes for them, I checked Youtube videos, just to see the scoop on them. The only install video I found was in Spanish, so I only caught like… 4 words the entire video. After he installed, he dummy jigged, canted, then taped. Is that necessary, or can I just set them flat and they have the cant already?
most cants are probably not 5 or 9 but somewhere in between… choose according to your bottom contour. vee will add cant so a 5 may be more appropriate, concave may be opposite so maybe use a 9. hope this makes sense, and you can get really close to desired cant this way you might only need to adjust a degree or 2. don’t just wing it though… measure it!
