Are there any Swaylock-ians living in Cape Verde?
Anyone have experience surfing there or can lead me in the right direction as to what is good in the tropical African islands?

Its been many years since I was in the cape verde islands , its best known for windsurfing , but there is very good surf , I seem to remember a place called Preita Plata or something like that , the islands are stuck out in the middle of the Atlantic and get swell from all directions , take sun block .
I’ve been on Sal twice for windsurfing.
Ponta Sino was nice for small wave wave sailing. Not really a destination for traditional surfing although you can find some pictures of people surfing there in clean waves. The bottom was sand and rocks if I recall correctly.
Ponta Preta is the Pro spot. Off-shore winds, right point-break , great for down the line wave sailing. This spot might be the best on the island for traditional surfing.
Ponta Leme is sometimes nice for windsurfing, but not for traditional surfing.
I also remember in the middle of the Santa Maria bay near a small pier, there were some people surfing and bodyboarding small waves. Very crowded though.
