Carbon in layed backbone

Hi this has been in my head for a while now ,Ive lay ed 1/4 x 1/4 unidireccional carbon in lays to form a skeleton in a 5’ 7" x 17 7/8 x 2 eps blank ,its ready for glassing with a weight of 700 grams at this stage ,looking for any thoughts on it before i glass it .Im still thing of laying some carbon x weave tape on inside edge of the bottom rails ,

Is this suppose to be like the “Carbon High-Beam” that LIB Tech used in their snowboards? Because that wasn’t very useful, but a great marketing scheme!

Leigh, is it carbon tape you’ve glassed to the deck or is it pressed into the foam in some way? Will you be able to still see the carbon when the board is finished because it looks good, dont forget to let us know how it goes!

Brett.

It is strips of carbon lay-ed in to cuts in the deck and then filled flush with epoxy filler .you dont see the it unless you have light from behind ,then you see it as a shadow in the board .

2 progress shots first is ready for spray and the next you can see its backbone when held up to the light .
