Central Coast Epoxy?

does any one know of any glassers in the central coast (cali) that will glass eps?

ive looked and look and cant seem to find anyone

Central Coast fiberglass was doing a few epoxy boards. I do not have their number you can try information. I know that they mainly do poly. They are in the San Luis Obispo area, I have never been to the shop though.

there’s a seemingly regular user here on the forums with a loc. of los osos…

thanks, i wasnt sure if they did or not, but ill be sure to give them a call, have you seen any of there work elewis? is it quality?

Only one epoxy, but lots of poly. Sometimes their attention to detail is not the best. One of my son’s friends had a board that had a whole bunch of hairs in the hotcoat. I am not talking about one or two. Probably 20 and they looked like pubs. I have heard that they are trying to get away from epoxy. I know the that shaper and he preceded to give me all the reasons why epoxy sucked. All reasons that have been put to rest many years ago by Greg and all the other epoxy gurus. Another shaper friend of mine from Newport gave me the same arguments 2 years ago and now he is a convert with 50% of his boards being epoxy.

Hi Afoaf -

Thanks for the referral but I’m not taking on any new projects right now.

There are several places in Santa Cruz.

On the west side of town Vince Broglio

On the east side Jesus and Maria.

I don’t know if Stretch will take outside work but I can ask him.

If you need contact numbers let me know.

No Worries, Rich

thanks. halcyon, santa cruz is a little far for me, i closer to santa barbara area, do you have any ideas for that area?

thanks elewis, so you would or would’nt recomend going to CCF?

They seem ok, but I don’t know if he will do epoxy anymore. I also don’t know if he will do individual boards. He pretty much does all of the labels on the Central Coast and I don’t think there is another glass shop so he is pretty busy. I think he does Stoneman, KR, Wahl, LLoyd, Parmenter (although I think Parmenter is only here about once a year, I know the guy who rents his house).

Try this guy. I know he likes to work with different materials…

thanks kemist, i talked to ryan and hes going to help me throught the process, what a nice guy!

Sounds like you have got it handled, but if for any reason it doesn’t work out try Clyde Beatty in SB.
