I acquired a 9’ 6" classic shape. Its not that its an old board but it was shaped in Hawaii by Laird Hamillton’s Dad (Bill Hamillton). The glass on the bottom is tearing off easily and the deck glass is delaminated but all the foam is in good shape except for minor foam damage at the nose. It seems like it didn’t get water logged, most damage happened on dry land. I figure it would be worth having someone in the area to restore it for me because to get a new one would be $1200 plus easy. I already have a call in to acquire 2 new full size laminats for deck and bottom, from Hamiltton’s factory. Maybe some light sanding on the blank and filling the foam at the nose then just reglassed. The fin boxes and leash cup are all in place and fine, O’fishl side fine boxes and a long center box. I’m thinking about having it painted or using a hawaiian print inlay. One question I do have is could it be glassed with epoxy instead of poly? Main thing is I need contact info for someone interested in the project. I plenty of pics all angles and will send pics for quote. I live in the Ponce Inlet area (near Daytona Beach) and will truck it within in an hour or so either north or south. for the right person. Also it is unsurfable in the condition its in so if your a busy person no worries I know this will take time and I am pretty patient I just want the best job for the fairest price. Id like her to be sea worthy by spring. Thanks for anyone who reads this for there time. Either reply here or send email to
Howzit mottola, After looking at his price list and comparing it to others It amazes me that repair guys charge so much ( $30 ) to put in a new FCS plug. I charge only $10 and I only charge $ 10 for a full 6 plug install on a new board. Gotta be one of the easiest repairs there is.Aloha, kokua
