Chambered surfboard interior

Hi there !
I am planning to shape a chambered surfboard out of spruce wood.
I wonder about the interior and the chambers, what would be the pros and cons of having aligned chambers in contrary to staggered arrangements of the chambers ?

I don’t know if I’m clear enough ?

In other words, is it best to align the chambers to have wide gabs along the width of the surfboard or not ?

Many thanks
Greg

My vote is to stagger the vertical supporting posts. It will provide fewer weak spots. I would do a search for chambered boards specifically from Gene Cooper. Jim Phillips has provided great insight as well but I think there are more videos out there from Gene on youtube explaining the technique. At the core both Gene’s and Jim’s method are similar.
