Hi all, Besides the face lift, I also added a few new functional features. Here they are in list form cause I’m too lazy to write one big paragraph. 1. The board archive is back. It now lives in the resources section. 2. You can now upload three images (up to 150 kb each – may lower that) with each record. 3. I’ve added three new sections to the resources section: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), Articles, & Memorable threads. 4. FAQs: The FAQs section is where I hope each of you will contribute to to help the knowledge base of Swaylock’s grow for all. If you’ve had an obvious question succinctly answered or you find your self answering a question often, please add it to the FAQs section. The form is super short and it only takes a couple of minutes to complete. A growing and organized FAQs area will make Swaylock’s miles more efficient and useful to everyone. Now, if a newbie comes in and asks a question that gets asked a million times you just need to say “Check the FAQs!!”. 5. Articles: The articles section is where you can write a longer article about a specific topic of your choice. Design, history, theory, practical applications, tools, techniques – any topic is fair game here. You can add up to 5 images with your article. 6. Memorable discussion threads: Often times at swaylock’s we have threads that are memorable for one reason or another. Length, Funny, informative etc. This section is where you can catalog and call out those memorable threads. I hope it gets used. 7. All of the resources are now easily editable. You simply need the record id number, and the username and password you entered when you added the record. If you forget these, you can get your username & password emailed to you. BUGS!!! Believe it or not I’ve spent hours (and i mean HOURS) getting this thing together as it is now. Nevertheless, I’m sure there will be bugs. If you find a weird behavior please email me personally. THE FUTURE: As I said already, my vision is that these new features get used by YOU. It is important that you take an active effort to add information so Swaylock’s as an information base grows for everyone. Eventually, I’m sure I’ll need to organize the FAQs section & Articles section in to subcategories. Keep that in mind. I think that’s it. I hope you all use and enjoy the new site. Please feel free to provide ANY feed back – positive or negative. enjoy, mike
