My SurfTech board from 2003 had all those things… flex and layers and other things…Things…
I bet Bret is a great guy and knows his stuff… Gotta sell that flex and other magic to pay for the beach house…
Learned it from his dad.

at first : such a bollox can create only somebody without the very basic knowledge how "sandwich"constructions work…
to put harder foam in the middle , where is dead non working layer is ridiculous…
other thing is : are boards really flexing the possitive way ( increasng rocker) ? , because if you consider more area between feets, I’m not sure about that…
I know I hassle, rag etc on guys like you Mark(and others) but the big boys are watching and they do pick up ideas and methods from this site. The guy with the brief case was Lost so he called the doctor.
In centre of sandwich flexural momentum forces are low to zéro but it’s place where T forces are the bigger. Not a big strengh to break contributor but a possibility to change dynamic of blank. This is a known build for sandwich for big boat, it’s called “club sandwich”.
What is a “T force”?
Torsional force?
If so, would you put glass in between the EPS and Dcell to stiffen agains twisting?
Interesting …
Jim and Jeff at Surflight have had the number on this for decades all from mike croteau.
way before bert and surftech and libtech came about

stuff’s so old even the music is bad
over the years, I’ve had 3or4 of his boards and if the weight ratio is right they are allot of fun to ride
imagine your tail rocker adjusting in a super steep and late take off as you jam the tail so you glide and not falll down the face
T force is “effort tranchant” in french, sharp force ?, there is in simple flex. It’s often let down because flexural momentum is the main force but in sandwich.,.
Ah ok, you mean shear force.
I’ll try to get my head around it’s effect on surfboards.
I don’t see any major breakthroughs butt looks like a fun build to try who is going to be the first swaylocker to give it a go? Would also like to see someone give their hand at kechle’s inverse carbon tube build
Nothing to do with the build, but wow, the pad is way up on that blue board…
