Has any one actually heard or been surfing on the channel islands, cause I think it would be cool to go surfing where no one else has.
Thanks

Too late…unless there are other channel islands someplace unsurfed…Join the legions of boaters fulfilling their fantasies…ambrose…every wave has a place unsurfed by anyone else
Yeah, I have surfed around the majority of the islands
(except San Nick, Navy frowns at outsiders there). Girlfriend works for the IWS repopulating foxes and eagles. So I just go around with her with a board in the back of the truck.
Just forget about it. No room left.
epac-
Please stop posting your weenie little political jabs where you know they don`t belong. A good place for that is Surfermag forum.
Thanks
well, you can do it, but as epac alluded to-don’t expect to be the only one out there.couple of tips-don’t croos on an east windday with a strong northwest swell runnin as the mix in the channel can beat the hell out of ya(if not worse, ie swamp your boat) and the channel between santa cruz and rosa is a bitch…

Great answer. Not high on the “aloha” but true just about everywhere.
Watch out for Great Whites. The Great White pup birthing area is just north of the Channel Islands. And, of course, their main course for eats is the sea lion - which number in the tens of thousands in the CI.

One takeoff spots with a dozen boats with unaware surfers who can’t take turns or wait there turn to go in the water. There used to be an unspoken etiquette when pulling up to a anchorage that already had surfers in the water, with divers and fisherman holding the bar at that level, and fuel costs at $100.00 / trip, wouldn’t it be COOL to have more Aloha? Nowadays guys show up with 8 guys and are jumping in before they even know what’s going on. When the big groups show respect they can get waves. When one, otr two guys show up and wait there turn, there is plenty of aloha.
