Anybody else see Chasing Dora? My pal and I watched it last night; It was kind of fun watching Munoz show them how it was done in the old days but they totally missed the mark as far as taking up Dora’s Challenge. I’ve got the original magazine from '74 when Dora laid down his 50 g challenge. I still think it would make a great contest. Fastest person from point A to B.
i lived it vicariously thru my friend marc andreini who was a participant. have you read dora’s biography- all for a few perfect waves? it’s worth the effort if you have any interest in da cat…

A friend of mine gave me that book a few weeks back. I was slow getting into it, but it’s a really entertaining read. So far, I get the biggest kicks out of Greg Noll’s recollections.
Steering into Greg Noll and away from Dora…my favorite quote from Mr. Noll is when asked if he would have towed in to catch big waves, he said, “If someone told me I could get shot out of an elephant’s ass to catch a bigger wave, I would have done it.”
at age 8 i met the legend and he was plastered. what a way to remember a surfing great. later in life(8years to be exact) i took tequila shots with corky carrol. dude has quad man boobs. freaky…
all for a few perfect waves is a great book, and i agree that the quotes from greg noll make the book. i liked his quotes so much i bought his book “life on the edge” and read the whole thing in a (flat) weekend. that guy is a character.
