Question for the repair gurus. What’s the best repair method for a chip in glass-on fins. Ran the fin into a rock and got a bit of a gouge. Thanks.
Hey, Frank, This is a solid glass fin? I’d go with filler plus resin, sand to shape, a layer of cloth over it if it’s big enough to need it ( bigger than a pencil reaser end, lets say ) followed by light sanding and finishing up with a gloss coat. Now, if this is a good sized chip, I’d first check around the base of the fin for cracks and such. Usually takes a pretty fair hit to chip a fin, and that’d be an ‘area of concern’, y’know?
