CI Pod tail shape and blank

Hello,

I am going to have my local shaper build me a board similar to the CI pod. I have the dimensions down but I have a question about tail shape and which blank to choose. I am looking for the the tail shape that will allow me to surf “slashy” and break away from the wave cleanly. I have a board that was shaped by Brian Wynn that is similar to a CI biscuit and that has a rounded pin type tail which works pretty well but I was thinking of using a more rounded design for this shape. Would that be a good choice or would you recommend something different?

Second question is which blank I should use. I am going to order a Marko blank but I am considering using a parabolic opposed to the traditional center stringer design. I want the deck to be slightly concaved to help in keeping my front foot planted. Would this design lend itself well to a parabolic blank or am I better off sticking with the traditional?

I am sorry if these are basic questions but I have very little knowledge concerning shaping. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

James

I know the norm would be a shallow swallow tail, but check out Slades on a squash tail pod…
