Has anyone taken the modified height adjustment system off of the standard Clark P20SB and put it on the F30A? After looking at the diagrams for both planers, it seems like it would be compatible to me. The reason why I ask is because I’ll be picking up an old modified clark next week for $120 and would like to just switch the height adjustment to my F30A which is newer and has a lot more power.
I’ve been told it is possible.
If I owned a F30A, I would do it too.
Maybe set it up to cut deeper too with that extra power.
Thanks Barry for confirming it can be done. Once I get it, I’ll just have to look and see how difficult it’s going to be. I’m also considering to leave it alone since I shape mostly shortboards and the F30A is no good around the nose. If I do this, I’ll be looking at the excellent tutorial posted not to long ago and try to do a homemade mod for the F30A.
Doing some maintenance ‘round here and wanted to finish up the F30A and do an OTF mod.
And remembered your tread.
Of which got me thinking about the 20 – 30 and it looks possible, given a donor Clark job. The cam sure looks like it could be adapted.
Anyone got a burn out Clark?
Fear not!
Got these mod photos from the archives.
Some crazy French cat Ha! Balsa…
Being an electrician I thought of a KO punch.
Hum we’ll see…
