Clark Planer Front Shoe ?

Picked up a new clark planer but the front shoe has a couple divit/pop marks (small holes about the size of a bic writing pen tip pushed through a piece of paper) on the surface. Does that matter since they are before the blade or should the front shoe be just a completly shiny flat surface. Thanks

Don’t worry about it. It won’t affect the way the tool works. -Carl

Does anyone know the diffrence between the clark hitachi and the hitachi off the shelf of a hardware store except about $140.

the hitachi depth adjuster on the stock model requires several turns to fully open it up to max cut. On the Clark model it is about a half a turn. Also the base grooves are filled with epoxy and ground down as well as having a vacume attatchement and a longer cord. The depth adjustment alone is worth the money unless you can do it yourself.
