Right now I'm working off of a box with Windows XP and Explorer 7. I normally work from a Macintosh or a Linux laptop, so I haven't experienced this problem before. Swaylock's is freaking out on this machine, though. The site loads fine at first, but when the banner ads finally load it starts clicking like crazy. I think it is the page refresh sound. It clicks about four times per second. No other internet site causes the browser to act this way -- it's just Swaylock's.
If the PC has Firefox, use that as your browser. If Adblock Plus is not installed, do it. It’s a Firefox add-on.
See no ads. No more!!
I go through the opposite problem when I try to troubleshoot for the GF over the phone. She has a Mac and I won’t own anything made by Apple so I don’t know Macs worth a damn.
I don’t own the PC, so I can’t load any software onto it. I just thought I would point out that there is an issue with the ads running on Swaylock’s. I’m sure there are plenty of Swaylockians out there running hoopty PC like this one. I think it is funny that it’s 2011, and a lot of PC owners refuse to move away from XP.
Howzit swied, It seems like every time there is a software upgrade the site has some problems for us to deal with and you just have to figure out how to fix it. When Mike upgraded at the start of 09' I couldn't post any replies or PM. Everybody told me to switch to Firefox and I did but really didn't care for it so instead I upgraded to the latest internet express version and that fixed everything. Have never used a mac for going on the internet so I have no idea how to help you but we have quite a few apple members nd they should be able to help you. Aloha,Kokua
I’m still running XP on two machines. One is my laptop, which had XP loaded from day 1. The other is a great machine I got for very little $$ but it came loaded with Vista, which I deplore. So, I partitioned the drive and run a dual boot system. No problem, as the HD is 640gb and the machine only cost $225 USD, new. Find a Mac with that capability for the same price. Apple disciples may tout their preference all they want, but the fact remains that Macs are over priced. You can get the same horsepower in a PC for much less.
Plus, the work I do involves programs that were not in a Mac version for years, so I stuck with PCs.
Just to compare Apples and Oranges…Three OS’es running simultaneously with Swaylocks.com open in each OS’es default web browser.
All on the same computer - an Intel Mac:
MacOS X Snow Leopard - Safari 5
Windows 7 - Explorer 8
Windows XP - Explorer 8
Im not experiencing any problems with any of the browsers.
I think your problem might be specific to the individual machine you’re on. Also, if you’re using Internet Explorer, you really should be using Explorer 8 not 7 and be running Microsoft update religiously on that thing.
I have a pc with Vista and the only time this happens is when the ad with the gorrilla picture comes up. I think the ad is for Disney or one of the other theme parks. I believe it is the ad doing it because this never happens elsewise.

I was just about to say the same thing. It's that gorrilla ad from Universal Studios displayed in the top banner position. Pages with other ads at the top don't cause the clicking sound.
I did the comparison with the web browsers that come standard with the Operating Systems. Right now, I think Googles Chrome browser is the fastest on any OS.
Microsoft fixed all the security flaws that IE7 had with the release of IE8.
Anybody that’s still using IE7, is just asking for trouble.
Howzit Sammy, I have a desk top and a laptop and the desk top still has XP and the lap top is running Vista so both are using explorer and I tried Firefox for about a week and I hte to say it but I prefer explorer. I also don't have any problems with Vista except that it asks you for permission to do almost everthing. My desk top is almost 9 years old and still going strong and the lap top is 2 years old. I will be gettin a new desk top this year probably and it will most likely come with 7 and I wish I could load the lap top with XP since I like XP but there is no tech support unless you buy it and not just use what Dell gives you. But I may just build my next computer myself since I can buy the components here because on Kauai there is no computer stores to buy the componetnts you need. My nephew builds his so I have any help I need. Aloha,Kokua
Howzit everysurfer, Thanks for the info and I think I saw some Dell models last year that they still had XP on but that was before 7 came out. I am interested in why it would cost so much to upgrade to 7 when you could buy a few computers with it on them for that much money. Its a joke right. Aloha,Kokua
My main beef with Vista is just that. Having to say yes to simple commands. That’s why my new machine has Vista and XP, and I never use Vista.
You can load two OS on the same machine. Takes a little work, but worth it, IMO. My last laptop had Win2K pro, and I added XP. Some programs I use for work won’t run in 2k, so I had to load XP. You will need your own copy of XP to do it. You wind up with a “dual boot” system. Requires you tell the machine which OS to load, but I don’t mind the extra step.
Also, you can find machines with XP on many websites like Overstock.com
