Ive got some material for a cloth inlay but iy may be too heavy to use. I think it is 6oz (not 100% sure) and it is 20% spandex. It that a problem? the pattern is pretty cool so id love to use it, will it be ok to use or will there be problems?

Spandex? Be prepared for a meltdown. Use only 100% silk, or 100% cotton.
i just did a test with epoxy, looks like the fabric is stretching out haha
Depending on how you do it, an inlay has the potential to add more weight to the entire board. I usually put a layer of glass under the inlay, then the inlay, then another layer on top. That right there will add weight. I’m curious about the spandex, I would guess that it would melt. But if you use epoxy you might be able to get away with it.
