clydebeattyfishfins

i saw a clyde beatty fish at elporto today, thick retro style with wide swallow, twinnie, with little fcs cannard fins right on the tip of the swallows…anyone know whats up with those? def the most diff.design i’ve seen in awhile

C.B. has more continuous fish design than anyone on the planet. A humble guy that still turns heads in the water. I’ve seen him ride very big waves with those tailers on his twin fins. They are the latest addition to the original rocket fish. We need to ask Clyde. Hey Clyde! Whats up with it?

I have heard, but, have not seen, that Greg Loher is doing something real similar down here in Fla. Calling it the tuna fish or something like that. Supposedly on wide-nose fishes he has the two little trailers on the tips also. I think it is suppose to give the loosness of the twin but hold better.? Anyways, how about a round of applause for these guys breaking away from the norm, heck, I heard they work unreal, maybe we have a c-5 beater on our hands.

Check out Clydes designs at http://www.beattyproducts.com. I heard when you do airs that the secondary fins catch a little and makes it hard do do reverts. some people like to put the new little baby curve fins back there to prevent the boad from catching during chop hops. I recommend you get the carbon ones because they weigh less and help get the tail out when you chop hop revert. They also tend to put a little reverse v an 8th inch before each tip on the trailer section sometime they even carve out little itty bitty channels back there believe it or not usually a four channel but a six is not uncommon. Ps they been using them at pipe for years they usually surf at night though so no one really has a picture of it .

are they a CON job glassing? like the websites?

With traction." I was immediately tempted to purchase this board. After calling the owner he let me know it was 2 1/4" thick. I’m 165lbs. Is this too thin for me? I usually don’t go any thinner than 2 1/2". http://www.2ndwavesurfboards.com
