colors ...

this may or have may not been covered ??? please let me know if it has so i can check it out …  i want to  paint a solid color on a board  … glass it with clear  resin…  then before the hot coat mix a small amt . of resin with a swirl …  just do the colored swirl in a small area  …  what do you guys think???  will this small bit of resin swirl get all  mixed up with the clear lam coat???  thanks for any help…

You really should do the colored resin swirl with the glass (lam over foam), not over the glassed board “before the hot coat”.  And I wouldn’t do the swirl over paint, over white foam is more effective, but I guess it depends on the exact look you’re after.  Here are some threads…

thanks huck  …

It can be done, but the resin does not swirl the same way as you would see on a standard abstract.

Here are a few with resin work done the way you described. And if I wanted a more traditional swirl I would go about it the way huck has described.

thanks wide… that is exactly  what i envisioned…

Very nice boards!

Thanks huck.

Ohh ya… You need to glass over it once you lay it down ( you can just do a patch that over laps an inch or so). If you just hotcoat over it you will sand through it.
