tblank has a great point; still, and nonetheless, Maurice at “Used Surf” in San Clemente has a great selection of boards, and is fair with prices. His number is 949-310-6602.
How long you coming for, where you planning on surfing? You gonna take the board back home, or try to sell it when you leave? Should get a good deal with the exchange rate.
going to drive up to san francisco, want to sort out a board as soon as i can ! if i like it i will take it home, or i may just sell it before i leave?
it’s seem’s you have load’s of second hand board place’s so that will be cool but i may sort something before i come i could have it shipped to my mate’s in LA suburb’s??
There are two shops witihin a couple of miles from LAX that have a very good used board selection. The best being Action Watersports on Lincoln blvd. North of LAX. They have very low prices too. Their boards are usually in rideable but very ugly condition up to decent boards. I wouldn’t say they have very great boards and they also carry lots of popouts. The second shop is Ridershack on Washington blvd. Take Lincoln North from the airport and turn right on washington. They have a great selection although not as much as Action Watersports. However the quality is usually much better and the customer service is impeccable. the prices will be slightly higher as well. Good luck!!
definitely, although there are still some cool boards to find in all of the different regions. especially certain shapers, you’re gonna find more on the particular county site that the shaper is from (i.e. roberts boards on the ventura craigslist).
and there should be waves that time of year. given that you’re going north, a bigger board is probably the better choice as you can score some pretty solid waves that time of year, especially north of point conception.
