First of all I'm new to Swaylocks...I'm almost done with my first go at a MS and I'm leaning towards a traditional single concave with twin keels, although a friend is trying to steer me to a double with a quad set up. What are some of you soap riders going with? I've never actually ridden one.. but I've seen them in action and can't wait to wax one up... With the single, how deep are you going, how far up from the tail are you starting, and are you taking it all the way to the rails ?
single to double
Keep it flat and drive it like you stole it.
convex - flat - vee with double concave - flat at tail - turns really much better than expected
Going to do convex or hull entry to deep single under foot to slight double concave vee out of tail for me next…
Thanks for the input.
Hey Gashuffer,
I just started a Hollow timber Mini 5'6" by 23" wide and I am going with belly in the nose fading to a 4mm single concave starting about mid board. But may change this to a single into double out the back and maybe a couple of mm deeper.
gunna see if it will float my 115 kegs....
cheers
I’ve had 3, 1 pro shape belly to flat to double and 2 by me, same btm and the other with belly to flat to single. I preferred the double, seemed looser in smaller surf.
Twins for sure too. Not a quad fan.
Fixed it for you =)

[/quote] this is the set up my my freind has been doing on his with good results..I'm going to his shop on monday to get some help on the final touches. one thing that kinda bugs me is that I used a fish blank and was'nt able to totally eliminate all of the tail rocker so I'm left with about an inch and a quarter tail rocker instead of a straight plane- tail. Next time I'm gonna pay the extra bucks and get a longboard blank...I love this website..glad I found it..I'm an amature hacker and can use all the help I can get...thanks!
Hey gashuffer,I think having some tail rocker is good for these boards it adds a bit of performance to them.I’ve attached a file of my daily driver for you to look at,this board is quite versatile as I can ride it in thigh to head high surf.Catches waves easy, fast fast down the line and can carve or snap with ease.
Right on Jesus, Thanks..
