concaves

What is the diference between a double concave nose and a single concave nose in a longboard???

How it afects the ride??

Thank you all

From Portugal…

double concave through the nose on a longboard?..why???

I dont know i just saw some high performance long boards shaped by a national shaper (Lufi) that have double concave nose!!

maybe its just a marketing gimmick, two is always better than one!

maybe more control while nose riding??

concaves offer multiple benefits one being lift (the opposite is a rolled convex bottom which results in more drag and suction)…a double can be viewed as two seperate singles side by side…both single and double provide lift, to varying degrees, BUT a double has a pronounced vee in there which causes water flow release, separation and turbulence at common across the stringer flows…so its a safe bet that singles offer cleaner bottom flows and thus maybe more ‘effective’

so meecrafty , would v in the tail and concave in the nose make a more effective nose rider suck the tail down push the nose out of the water.

yeah vee might work but i think the most popular approach for noseriders is to either roll the bottom or the rails or both in the back third of the board…anything to create that suck to hold the tail in…big fat fins too

rolled bottom increasing more heavily and pinched as you approach the back…and a big fat fin
