Hi everyone, not quite sure where to ask this so I’ll start here. I’m about to pull the trigger on a custom board (something like a Roberts Meat Cleaver or Lost Quiver Killer). I’ve been in touch with Coil and they can make a custom for me or I can order one of those models from XTR. Does anyone have any thoughts on the different constructions? I’m about 200lbs, a little over 40, and live in New England.
Not sure if they still use it, but XTR was using an XPS foam and it is much more water proof. I knew the local certified XTR guy where I live, and had a chance to get a blank and the epoxy resin they use. All top quality stuff.
Builds would be very different because Coil is more high tech in the way it is made, but I think they use an EPS foam, and it can suck water if there is a hole. XTR is more traditional hand glassing versus vac bag glassing.
