conversion time?

so i’ve got this 6’3 x 11.5 x 19.5 x 14 (14.5?) x 2.5 anacapa glider (i know i know)

anyways, i don’t really ride it anymore and i’m very curious

in cyrus stutton’s movie ‘riding waves’, in his sequence donovon frankenreiter is riding what looks to me like performace thruster shape with a single fin. and he rips on it!

so i was thinking since i don’t ride the board anymore i could turn it into a single fin with an old box i’ve got? do you think this will work? obviously if given a wave it’ll surf but … and should i add small stabilizing side fins / keep the side fcs plugs?

oh and i know i could search the archives but i might as well ask right here right now. how far should the box go given the rocker? nose rocker from tip of the nose is 6 1/8 and tail rocker from tip of tail is 1 7/8.

If your curious, put the box in, easy enough to do and you can buy/make a converter that allows FCS fins to fit a single fin box.

I’d leave the side plugs in, and try if first. but there would not be any gain in just taking them out and filling the holes, just take the fins out.

search chips posts he made some small 3" site bite with 1 fcs tab for his bushfire quad and if it feel too loose as a single fin you, you could try something like that.
