converting fins

so i like the feel of occy fins (FCS) but i just built a eps board with future fins so no OCCY …futures doesnt make a fin like occy…the closest to it is the FAM2…but still…i want occys so…

…how would i go about converting a pair of OCCY fcs fins into future fins???..

…

…could i glue up foam between the gaps in the plug inserts and shave down???..heavy glass???..

…sand down the inserts first for a sure fit???..

…then cut out the notches where the screw-dealy fits into???

anyone ever experiment like this???

if im not mistaking i believe that futures have different cant built into their setups with their fins, so you still might not have the same feel with your new board as with the old with fcs.

if you can make a mould of the futures box ,

then you can pour in epoxy resin , mixed with hardener , and some milled fibre , tape the fins at whatever cant you prefer , and , when set , unscrew the mould .

there’s a couple of threads that show this process …"fin base moulding " , and “moulding fin bases” …do a search under "plusoneshaper’'s posts , or some bloke called “chipfish61” , or something .
