cooperfish surfboards

anyone seen the nose concaves on these longboards they are HUGE, crazy huge and deep. anyone ever riden one? austin http://www.cooperfishsurfboards.com

Pseudo old school logs. Hard to turn but pretty to look at. They are stuck in some kind of time warp.

actually they work really well. they are not longboards to “shortboard” they encourage traditional style- walk the board, drop knee turns etc. Heavy single fins aren’t for everyone. not everyone has to ride the same thing or have the same tastes otherwise swaylocks can shut down and we can all ride surftechs.

I rode one last weekend and found it was quite easy to turn for a board of its dimensions, fin size, and weight glass. Then again I enjoy turning with my body and feeling the fin against the water. I understand a lot of surfers don’t, however, I think if you’re expecting this type of board to turn like a super light, high performance longboard, you’re missing the point. The shortboard era was so influential (and disgusting) on the new longboards of the late 80’s and early 90’s that, for me, it’s always refreshing to see boards suspended in a state of 1967. Label it what you like.

gene’s boards have the best glass jobs i have ever seen. total soul involved in what he’s creating. retro shapes which i personally love, some don’t. thank you gene for showing the art and total dedication to surfboards

and how about those designs wouldnt you all love to lay down a resin tint like that??? how do they do it???

Try a Coop at San-0 or Malibu…and then decide…There is a place in a real longboarders quiver for the cooper

anyone ever measured how deep the concaves are? how wide? how long? thanks austin
