Corky boards

Hey guys,

I’m shaping a board at the mo and looking for some suggestions to keep it snappy but retaining enough volume for me.

Dims are round about 5’3 x 19 3/4 x 2 1/2 but can be altered slightly, I’m aiming for a modern performance fish kinda shape, twinny with an optional trailer, chop square tail. It’s coming out of a screwed up 8’ blank so i’m still working on fixing the rocker and thickness.

I’m currently riding a 5’5x19 3/4x 2 3/4 performance egg pintail kinda thing, really thick rails, it’s nice but feels really cruisey, if I try snaps or anything with power it seems to float on top of the wave rather than engage the rail properly. I want to try and avoid this with the new one, i’m guessing thinner rails is the answer? Any other ideas to keep it lively? I’m 5’10, 140lb if that helps.

Cheers

Stay away from a thruster setup of any kind! I heard the setup is terrible on a fish board. Go twin fin or quad.go atleast 21" wide, parallel outline, low semi full rails, atleast 1/8" of vee in front of fins, bit of tail kick behind fins, and a semi domed flat deck.
