couple of quick questions

im doing a quad ( my 10th board) and ive always been skeptical/ discouraged about taking the stringer down because the plane ive been using creates these choppy foam dents. what kind of hand plane do i need to make this go over smooth and any technique advice?

also, how can i get more rocker out of the nose on the deck, i dont have a spokeshave. thanks dudes

live a little and splash out on the $10.00 for a mini spokeshave. Fiberglass Supply or Fiberglass Hawaii have them mail order.

Looks like the board bight need to be a touch thinner in the nose and tail.

i have the nose thinned out from after that pic.

nowhere near done on the tail, hah

This pricey little tool will actually leave a tiny concave in a stringer and can fit any rocker(I hope!).A freind of mine has one and swears by it,woodcrafters sells them also. Its just below the hitachi on the list.
