Creative Designs Surfboard Shapes

I’m looking for information on a board that I found a few years back. The name is Creative Designs Surfboard shapes, does anybody know anything about this surfboard maker. It’s a late 60’s transitional gun shape with a hull bottom. The fin is a early Fins Unlimited adjustable.

Creative Designs was the Surfers Journal owner Steve Pezman and Stu Hertz and was in Huntington Beach. I have talked to Pez about his great article in Sufring Mag about rockers back in 68-69, I used his info on my first board I shaped. They made some nice boards. Plastic Fantastic was right down the street, lots of good surfers around there back then.

Thanks Kirk, the board fully appears to be from that era, though the finbox looks to be added later.

I shaped for Steve at Creative Design in “68”, Rusty Hunter is the only other shaper I can think of. We shaped some nice guns and custom boards, but also did a lot of east coast boards. For the east coast boards we had a giant automated planer that shaped the deck and bottom, then we did the rails and final touch. Those were good times!

Meanwhile Steve’s wife was working the natural foods counter in the back of George’s making awesome lunches for hungry surf idiots like us.
