Cropping Surfboard Outline with Photoshop?

Anyone give me a walkthru? Have a lot of board pics but they’re in backyards and the likes. Want to grab “just the board.”

Thanks

There are 2 tools you can use. One is the magic wand where you pick the colour only. Hold your shift key down and do multiple selections to get the whole board, the other is to use the Magnetic Lasso tool and follow the contour around.

You could also use the selection tool (dotted square) and mark a rectangle around it.

Once it is selected, copy the selected area ie Edit - copy and Then go to File then New, back to edit, then paste.

Have a play around and work out what’s best for you.

cheers

Hicksy…I want to know how you got that board to stay upright against that plastic pool!

Also zoom in on the piece you’re cropping. It helps in either grabbing or not grabbing the little shadow and highlights with most pictures. You’ll get a cleaner crop that way.

After I copy and paste (original board is white) and the new board window comes up totally in grey and the shaper’s name is in reverse contrast. How do I make the new copy the same color as the original? I tired another picture of a blue board but the magic wand won’t work - it only choses squiggly pieces of the board.

Hmmmmm
