I read somewhere here that you should wait about a week for a board to cure before taking it out to surf. Do you have to wait the same amount of time if you’ve used UV catalyst for the resin and hot coat? Would you have to set it out in the sun for it to cure or is it curing when it’s just sitting inside a closed garage?
You don’t have to wait that long with UV cure.
Don’t put it out in the blazing sun for very long (never do that to any board of course!), but a couple of hours in a nice bright spot will have it completely cured, full strength.
It will eventually cure even in the shade, there’s enough diffused UV to make it go hard.
…I have been doing all the test and depends on the weather conditions but the 1 day UV cure is not good in 75% of the scenarios compared with let the board days or months (depending the weather)
