i am about to try my first resin tint. the only last thing i am pondering about is how to cut my nose and tail laps. i am afraid to cut the slits so that it will lap nicely. i figure to much cut out and you will see where there is no cloth. and if not enough cut, then it might have build up and require a lot of sanding and leading to a shitty job. or am i just overthinking this??? anyone have some helpful info???
Don’t worry if the overlaps crisscross a little on the ends. It will change the coloration but no biggie. I just did some repair on a Harbour with a green tint and the overlaps at the ends, as well as the resin buildup along the edges, were much darker than the rest of the board. I had to mix up two batches of green pigmented resin (one much darker) to try and match the different areas.
