Again !!!
so sunday we did it again
just because
two weex kona winds
the day after
the trades
came back
as always
blown out.
went out anyway
blown ,so what
dale made these waves discernable
with them mats he made us
thrill rides four or five
we were the only guys out
invisible to the plastic indians on the beach
riding by on the highway
going to rub shoulders with the greats
photo ops at the peir
bikini watching at the pavillion
a paved paradise
where all but the working ask
“how long have you been here?”
out surfing invisible
at a thousand year old spot
dale did that.
all hail dale.
…ambrose…
growing old ?
older?
whaddya gonna ride?
I gotta clue.
all hail dail
hip hip
{HIP? hep ! }
Hooray!
{WHO ? ray !}
if you’re readin dont cry
bank the healing love.
come back to health
and more.
come back to whence we all came
the cleft in the coast
where the healing occurs.
Right On Ambrose! I was thinking along those lines myself though not so articulate/poetic. Few days ago I surfed smallest waves ever in my life I think. Biggest set maybe 1 1/2 foot face at the peak. Though it was clean and sunny. Hold a ruler up. Its always overhead when you are lying down. Shared with two loggers who were struggling, crouching-handpaddling to stay in wave. Me…climbing and dropping thru secttions invisible from the beach. Full round cutbacks/S-turns. Riding 3X as far as they were. Then a few day before yesterday, head high plus with jiuce at point break. Hanging on for dear life, eyes bulging white. Where oh where are my “edges?” So much learning curve I’ll never get bored.
Dale, may you be healthy, happy and have ease in your life!
Sent Dale and Mary A paper towel roll tube full of stuff, the postal worker asked if I had a lead pipe in the tube…lol.
Could someone please bring out the drums
Dunno about the drums, but - bagpipes? Hey, I’m Scotch, and drums are not in the equation.
Dale has been and remains one of the truly good guys. Very generous with his knowledge and helpful to poor fools like myself. He got into the business of neumatics 'cos of physical problems that made it too painful to do what he did… and he has done a grand job and made a lot of people very happy.
My best, and if somebody wants to PM me on how I can do more, please do.
doc…
So true Doc,quite a skater in his day too !!!
Thanks, Herb- could be that in the pre-pads era one thing led to another.
As you said: “we reap what we sow.” - and on that note, Dale will do very well. He’s been an example for all the rest of us.
doc…
Hey Dale…You are about to discover how many cool people there are on Swaylocks. When I had my heart problems and triple bypass surgery the out pouring of emails, cards, etc. was astounding.I was laying in the hospital weak and depressed, when in walked a friend of mine with copies of all of the comments and get well wishes from the Swaylock bros.I was astounded.
Just remember that you now have a new beginning and life is good. Its like getting a second chance.I Bet you are going to be fine.It just takes time.Be patient and get well. RB
Aloha Dale,
The Clean Man is right on…“you now have a new beginning and life is good”. Today starts the rest of your life…enjoy the ride!! I too have been near the other side. When you come back over life just tastes better every moment forward. Prayers your way!!
Richard McCormick
PS: Let’s all agree to make tomorrow’s surf session one for Dale. Here’s to you!
Dale…when the surgeons split my chest open they used super glue to put it back together.I just thought that was funny as hell. ( I am still paranoid when I cough though).
Dale,
Stay up, stay strong, stay true. Best wishes. Get well soon.
Regards, Tony.
Hi, Dale
JH here to wish you a great recovery!!! I really enjoy your mat and all the conversations we've had. I was sad to hear of your illness...Get well soon!! _John H.
for you.
Dale,
Prayers on the way. I know you’ll be back better than ever. Mike
M-mmmy B-bbbbad !
I had the pleasure of talking to Dale on the phone and he sounds great. He is upbeat and will heal just fine (if he minds his Ps and qs and his wife LOL).Dale is a great guy and I am proud to have talked with another “survivor”. RB
I haven’t even got round to buying a neumatic yet. I’m still with a redback. But Dale has been offering detailed advice on all things mat related, the nature of which suggests that he has really taken time ands effort to consider his posts on the message board in question. I’m really very impressed. In a world so full of “positive spin” and marketting techniques, this is so refreshing, and so encouraging.
My thoughts are with him.
A huge “thank you” to all our wonderful friends around the world! We’ve received so many letters, gifts, phone calls and emails… all priceless. It’s been an emotional time, a struggle for me to adequately express my feelings in words.
That said, I am doing well, very thankful for a second chance at life. In terms of well being, I’ve entered a new chapter with the hope of turning the clock back at least 10 years. My heart attack has been a blessing in disguise, and I believe more than ever: “Every day, every minute, every breath truly is a gift from God.”
I hope you recover quickly !
And as Coral would say,“Have Fun”!
